White Coat Bonfire

Our friends are all leaving us! The Pfeiffers and the Wardens are all packed up and moving out. The guys decided that now they are official doctors and won't be wearing the short white coat anymore they should have a proper short white coat burning ceremony before everyone is gone. So Ben, Mike Pfeiffer, Mike Warden, and Matt Allred all got together and burned their short white coats.

Just goes to show you that even though they are doctors, boys will always be boys :)

It was a fun event for all, and a good farewell night for the Pfeiffers. We are going to miss our friends so much! Now that the Pfeiffers are gone we are all alone with no neighbors on either side. All of our friends that haven't graduated yet are gone for the summer too. We have said all of our goodbyes and I am so ready to be on our way to Illinois!

The Goodbye's Begin

We said goodbye to the first of our friends today. The Pettits are all packed up and on their way to St. Louis. It was super sad and it already feels empty here. We have loved living in between such great people. They were our family out here. The game nights, the play dates, the dinners without hubbies, all of the love and support...these friendships are one in a million and can't be replaced. We are really going to miss these guys!!

Dr. Coombs

Ben is a doctor!!
Today was Ben's graduation from Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine. Four incredibly hard years have paid off and Ben is officially a doctor!

We started our celebrations last night. We decided to ditch the DMU dinner and celebrate with just our family and best friends. We went to the Cheesecake Factory with our parents and the Pettit's and Pfeiffer's families. It was a much more relaxed setting where we could just enjoy the people we love most and let our kids play with their best friends.

This morning we headed to Hyvee Hall in Des Moines, Iowa to watch Ben walk across the stage and get robed as a doctor! Notice all of the colors Ben gets to wear around his neck...he not only passed his classes, he aced them!

We are all so proud of our Doctor Daddy!

We are so blessed to have had such great friends to go through this experience with!

We are also grateful for all of the support that we received from our family! Both of our parents were able to come to Iowa for Ben's graduation.

You did it babe!! I love you so much! I'm so proud of all of your hard work and dedication. You are an amazing man, father and husband...and I know you will be an amazing doctor!!

All of the festivities are over now and after 4 long years Ben can finally relax! And his choice of relaxation tonight is playing with fire :) Ben and Cole bought some "fireworks". They are the legal ones so they aren't too exciting, but Ben is still like a little boy being able to light something on fire. I love ALL of my kids :)

Yay Doctor Daddy!!!

Avengers Assemble!

Cole was sad that we are going to be moving before his birthday, so we decided to have his friend birthday party a few months early so he could invite all of his friends. After all, he had been planning a super hero party for the last 9 months. How could I let this super kid down?
My own little super hero came prepared to fight the evil Mr. Freeze, aka Daddy in disguise :)
He assembled all of his super hero friends to help rescue Captain America, Spiderman, Hulk, and Thor who had all been frozen by the evil Mr. Freeze. First they had to find their frozen friends. Then they had to follow the clues and complete many obstacles to find the magic unfreeze guns that would free their super friends.

The super kids were successful in defeating the evil Mr. Freeze and freeing their super friends!

After all that hard work we had a pinata filled to the brim with sweet treats. What could be better than being told to hit something and getting candy for it? :)

Finally, we ended with 6 candles on the cake and avenger cupcakes for all!

Cole also got some super presents from his super friends!

Thanks to everyone who came and helped make this super party a hit!!
Cole was lucky to have all four of his grandparents in Iowa for his party! And even luckier that Daddy was done with school and able to be the evil villain :) Amazing Danna and Nicole were on picture on duty. And of course loads of super friends showed up for the occasion. We have been so blessed to have such amazing friends here in Iowa!!
