Thanksgiving Vacation

We had a super fun day with Daddy today!
The kids played with Daddy this morning while Mommy went shopping :)
We spent most of the day decorating for Christmas!! We jammed to Christmas music while we put up our tree and hung the ornaments, decorated the living room, and Daddy started the lights outside on the house.

Last, but definitely not least, we set up the train around the tree!! And had a blast playing with it :)

The fun wasn't over yet. Daddy surprised us and took us to see the movie Big Hero 6!! It was a darling movie that we all enjoyed...even Dax sat through it!

We had a blast today!! So blessed to have Daddy around!

Happy Thanksgiving!

It really has been a happy Thanksgiving!!
The kids spent the morning building forts on the couch and playing while I made pies and Ben played football!

In the afternoon we went to the Monson's house with Travis and ate a yummy dinner that Rebecca prepared!! We spent the rest of the day relaxing with our friends!

Ben bruised his toes playing football and decided it was a good idea to drill his toe to release the blood pressure. I think it's insane, but I guess he is a doctor and knows what he is doing. Hope it helps :)

We have so much to be thankful for today! We have an amazing family, great friends, the gospel of Jesus Christ in our lives, and we are back in our house!! The best part of this thanksgiving is that Ben gets today and the whole weekend off!! Wahoo!!
May we ever be grateful for our many blessings!

Fingerfood Feast

Ellie's preschool had a Thanksgiving celebration today. The kids sang a few cute Thanksgiving themed songs and then we got to share their fingerfood feast with them.

Elise has the cutest teacher, Mrs. Iverson. We just adore her!

Such a fun celebration!!

Turkey Shoot

Cole's cub scout troop had a turkey shoot for pack meeting tonight. The boys were all supposed to make their own bow and arrows. Gpa Coombs helped Cole find his bow when they were visiting and I helped find the arrows. Daddy whittled everything and strung the bow. And I helped make the arrows safe by padding the tips :) It ended up being a pretty small bow with really small arrows. I thought the other large bows we saw would outdo Cole's. But I thought wrong! Cole ended up getting the most points in his den! He then participated in the shoot off for all the den winners his age and won that as well! He even got a bullseye! For winning he was given a Bass Pro Shop gift card. He was so excited and I was so proud of my little archer!

Way to go Cole buddy!!

Bed Hogs

Most nights Ellie and/or Dax sneak into my bed and I wake up to something like this:
So precious to see! And so annoying to sleep with ;)
Love my babies!!

Caterpillar city

Our mall finally got a play place! Unfortunately, it's the outdoor mall so it's outside. Seriously, who put a play place outside in Illinois? The freezing temps didn't stop my cute kiddos from playing though! After all, who can resist a Caterpillar tractor?!

Snow!

It's snowing!! The first real snow of the season. It's a little too early for me, but it's still so pretty...and exciting for the kids! So I guess let it snow!!

Star of the Show

Today was parent watch day at dance. I was excited to get to watch my little ballerina! Surprisingly, her brothers were also excited and sat and watched the entire time!

We love our cute little dancer!!

Hibachi!!

Gma and Gpa Coombs took us to a super fun Hibachi restaurant called Hakkaido to celebrate Daddy's birthday! It had a really fun atmosphere and delicious food! There were even fish swimming in the floor that the kids loved!

The hibachi chef was funny and super talented! It was very entertaining! We all loved it, except Dax and Ellie who were really scared of the fire.

The kids all loved the chopsticks though :)

They all got a turn hitting the big gong drum on the way out to let everyone know the dinner was delicious!

Thanks Gma and Gpa!! That was a fun adventure!

The Pettit's for the Weekend!

We were so lucky to get the Pettit's to come visit us this weekend! They came Halloween night, late after trick or treating. Danna, Ryan, Ben and I stayed up half the night talking! We were exhausted the next day, but Danna and I had big plans to decorate our house, so we sent the dads and kids off to Jumping Jax while we spent the day shopping :) Ben got a few pictures of Cole and Ellie helping Dax climb the slide, but I think he pretty much slept the rest of the time they played :)

Danna and I had a successful shopping trip though! She designed my entry way table and wall collage, as well as gave us an idea for the old window/shutter look in the kitchen. I'm not sure our house would have gotten decorated before we moved if Danna hadn't come!!

We tried out a fun restaurant called Sugar that night. It was yummy and we all had a blast!

Danna insisted on taking new pictures for us before they left. So after church Sunday she dressed us (mostly in their clothes) and did our hair so we were picture ready. It was freezing and overcast, but she is an awesome photographer and somehow managed to get some cute pictures:

We sure lucked out having the Pettits as our friends! Thanks for the great weekend Pettits! And a super big thanks to Danna for being our designer, decorator, stylist and photographer :) I don't know what we'd do without you!!
