Greencation Church History Tour

Yesterday the kids and I packed up the car, picked up Nat, Teancum and Tallie at the airport, and drove all day to Cleveland! It was a long drive, but it flew by with the Chamberlains in our car :) The kids were so excited to be with cousins!! It was fun for me to get to chat with Nat and her two teenagers, and T and Tallie entertained the kids the whole way! We had a great start to the Greencation fun :)
We stayed the night at Casey and Lindsey's house. The kids were so excited to see Carly and Holland that we had a hard time getting them to bed :)
Today we headed east to meet up with the rest of the family that was coming. We stopped in Kirtland to do a quick tour. We saw the temple and the Newel K. Whitney store. Cole was loving it all and wanted to see everything, but Dax was restless and we needed to move on. We'll have to go back again with Daddy!

We made it to Palmyra just before the sites closed for the day. We met up with GG and Grandpa and saw the Joseph Smith house and the Sacred Grove. Kent and Kae Servoss were there serving a mini mission during the pageant, and Kent was able to show us around the Sacred Grove and tell us some cool stories. It was a beautiful place where the spirit was strong. I can see why this is where Joseph went to pray. And now we can all have a better visual of the grove when we read about the first vision.

We finally met up with the McNeils and the Edgmons at the Hill Cumorah Pageant. We met some of the actors before the pageant started. I was worried the kids wouldn't sit through the pageant so I wasn't going to stay long, but they loved all of the bright lights and singing and sat through the whole thing! It probably helped that they were with cousins and their aunts kept giving them treats :) We are having so much fun vacationing with the Green family!!
