Sunday Walks with my Cute Kids

I'm so happy that the weather has gotten warmer and we can finally go on Sunday walks again! Aren't those the best looking kids you've ever seen?! I love my cute kids!

I Love To See The Temple

We were able to go to the Nauvoo Temple today!!

It's the first time we have been here since we moved to Illinois. The last time we came was three years ago and the kids don't even remember it. 

We got there a little early so we went down to the Mississippi River where the Saints crossed to head West to show the kids where I was baptized. It was fun for me to reminisce and the kids were shocked I was baptized in a muddy river :)

We spent a wonderful day at the temple. It was our ward temple trip so we spent the first part in the Arrival Center watching all the kids while others went to a session, then we swapped. It was the first time we were able to see the new video. It was amazing! I felt the spirit so strongly and learned so much! It was so peaceful and spiritually strengthening. I wish we could go every weekend! We will definitely have to make a greater effort to come back to this beautiful place.

Pinewood Derby

Cole and Ben worked hard to make an awesome car for Cole's first Pinewood Derby!!

Pack 73 has a serious race. Last night they weighed and measured each car and then locked them up until the race so no one could cheat. There was an awesome track with lots of computers to make sure each car received their exact time and place. It was quite the event!

Cole was pretty excited and I think he had fun. There was a lot of anticipation, and a lot of disappointment when he kept coming in 3rd place. Cole was a good sport though, although a little sad he didn't get a trophy. Ben took notes and hopefully next year they can make a faster car and at least win one of the heats :)

Lucky

Cole's homework for St. Patrick's Day was to make a Leprechaun Trap. We had a lot of fun with it. Cole came up with an idea and Ben made it happen. It is pretty awesome, don't you think it will lure a leprechaun?! Tomorrow we'll see if it worked!

And lucky for me, my baby colored all over himself :) I sure love my kids!!

TGIF

Happy Friday to the kids! It is a beautiful sunny day and the kids got new bikes!!

I got a phone call today saying that I could pick up new bikes for Cole and Ellie. Russell's Bike and Fitness donated bikes to children displaced by the tornado. They are pretty awesome bikes too! See, blessings come from tornados :)

We found an empty parking lot to ride in since there are no sidewalks where we currently live. It was a lot of fun...until Ellie crashed and then when she got back on Cole crashed into her. There were a few tears, but there were a lot more smiles. We are still grateful for these awesome new bikes and can't wait to go riding again!!
