Into the Wild

We took the grandparents to Wildlife Prairie Park today!

We saw lots of animals: bison, cougars, a black bear, otters, farm animals, a crane, peacocks, elk and a butterfly garden!

The kids got to ring a school bell and see what it was like to go to school back in the day with one classroom for everyone and chalk boards!

We had a blast exploring the great outdoors with family today!!

8 is Great!!

Cole is 8!!
I can't believe how fast the years have gone...before we know it he will be all grown and on a mission ;)
We started out the day with an "8" filled breakfast: 8 shaped donuts, 8 shaped grapes, and bacon (just because every boy loves bacon right!)

While we waited for Grandma and Grandpa Coombs to come over Cole made a sign for his baseball birthday party:

When Grandma and Grandpa came it was present time!! And as usual Cole was spoiled with a plethora of presents :) He got baseball teeny mates, lots of Jurassic World legos and soccer stuff, as well as over 500 baseball cards to start his own binder collection!

After presents we got all ready for his big friend party! We put the finishing touches on his baseball cake and set up the baseball water fun outside! He had 10 friends over and they had a blast playing baseball on the slip n slide, practicing their pitching through the hoola hoop, practicing their catching skills with water balloons and perfecting their batting skills on the baseball pinata we made!!

After Cole's awesome party we went to a Chief's game at Dozer Park...and got to sit in box seats for the first time!! Mike and Sierra and kids, Gma and Gpa Coombs and Gma and Gpa Green all got to come with us!! It was the perfect ending to a baseball lovers birthday!

I sure love my awesome 8 yr old!!
Cole is incredibly smart! He is always learning more about things through reading non fiction books and watching documentaries or educational shows. And he soaks up all of the information that he can. He is smarter than me in so many ways ;)
Cole is also very artistic! He loves to draw, make up his own paper creations, learn the art of origami, and make clay creations.
Cole is obsessed with sports! He loves every sport he has ever tried. He loves to watch as well as play. His favorite sport is the one that is in season ;) He takes every opportunity he can to learn more about each sport and works hard to become better. He is incredibly focused and driven!!
Cole is very aware of others and always looking for ways to help. He is very compassionate and sensitive to others feelings. He is very obedient and wants to do what is right. I tell him all the time that he is the best kid in the world...because he is ;)
Cole also loves to tease his siblings! He is the best big brother and Dax and Ellie adore him...but he is perfecting the art of teasing that every brother has to have ;)
Cole is the perfect oldest child and a great example to his siblings! I love this kid!!

Good Times

We have been having a blast this summer!!
We have been going to Lowe's every other Saturday for the Avenger series of the Lowe's Build and Grow. One Saturday we even ran into Mike and Camden and had them join us! Avengers Assemble!!
The library has all sorts of fun things during their summer reading program. We have read lots and gotten lots of fun prizes. One day we even happened upon a balloon artist! He made Ellie a super awesome kitty heart crown ;) Dax got a tiger and Cole got a lion! It was an exciting surprise!

We have also played A LOT of baseball this summer!! We are so lucky to have a playground right behind our house!

We are loving our summer!!

Indianapolis Temple Open House

We met Maryn and her girls in Indianapolis this weekend!!
Maryn was in Cleveland helping Casey and Lindsey out after Mason was born, and it just so happened to be the opening weekend of the Indianapolis Temple open house. Maryn really wanted to go since that is where she served her mission. So we met her in Indianapolis for the weekend!

It's always a party when we get together with Maryn's family!! We played in the hotel pool and got in trouble for being too loud in our rooms ;)

We got to see the beautiful temple Saturday!! Then we met up with the Mehrs for lunch. Liz and Maryn went to BYU Jerusalum together and now Liz and her fam are friends in our ward...small world!!

It was such a fabulous weekend!! The only problem was it went way too fast!
