Retirement

Today was my last day teaching Joyschool with these sweethearts...and Ellie's last day going to school with her Iowa friends. We are really going to miss these cute kiddos!!

April Showers Bring May...Snow?!

Yes, it's May and it is snowing!! Two days ago we were wearing shorts and enjoying 80 degrees and sunshine. Today we are in a winter wonderland. Pick a season Iowa!

I love this cute little guy!! 

My baby is growing up way too fast! He is crawling around and getting into everything...and putting everything in his mouth :) He is my playful, funny, sweet, adorable baby boy!

Turtle Power!

"Teenage mutant ninja turtles, teenage mutant ninja turtles, teenage mutant ninja turtles, heroes in a half shell, turtle power!"

Cole and Ellie have been on a ninja turtle craze lately. Even Morgan got into it today. They asked me to make them a mask and a sword, and this is what we came up with on the whim. They look pretty fearsome to me!

Fire Station Field Trip!!

Ellie had her last preschool field trip today at the Waukee Fire Station!!

We were able to explore the trucks, try on gear, spray the hoses, and take a ride in the ladder truck!

Even Dax got in on the action :)

We had a blast at our awesome fire station!!

Cole was so sad that he missed it. We are really going to miss the great fire department here and all the fun that they have provided for us over the years. Hopefully we will get to go again before we move!

Easter Morn

We woke up Easter morning to hidden baskets and eggs...so off we went a hunting, and look what we found:

  

The Easter Bunny might have gone a little overboard on the amount of eggs he hid :) But the kids weren't complaining!

Next, we got all dolled up in our Easter best for church:

 We may have been running late for church, and I may not have realized that Ellie had the baby doll and kept pulling funny faces because it was super windy...but the kids are still super cute despite the bad photographer :)

We are so grateful this Easter for our Savior. We get caught up in the eggs, baskets, and outfits, but we didn't forget the real reason we celebrate Easter. We are so blessed to have a loving Savior who died for us and was resurrected, making it possible for us to be resurrected and be a family forever!

Eggstra Special Family Fun!!

We had a blast dying our eggs for Easter!!

Mommy is pretty simple, Daddy got fancy with his plaid egg, and the kids had their fun multicolored ones...but they are eggstra fun because of their silly faces :) They are so cute I'm not sure we will ever eat them!

We had a super fun night coloring eggs together as a family!! Thanks Danna for the kit!
