Daddy's Day

My two guys headed off to school today...together! 

Today was Daddy's Day at preschool and luckily Ben had the day off so he could go with Cole. Ben got to meet Cole's teachers and friends and see what Cole does every day. It was a fun morning for both Cole and Ben!

Happy Easter!!

We had a fun filled Easter weekend!

We went to the DMU Spring Eggstravaganza and made bank at the hunt:

We went to our branch BBQ and Easter egg hunt at the Pence's house and had a blast as usual:

Easter morning we went on a hunt for our baskets and hidden eggs. We had so much fun and got so many goodies from the easter bunny this year :)

And of course we went to church and were spiritually fed by all of the Easter lessons.

I am so thankful for my Savior, Jesus Christ. I am thankful for His atonement and all He has done for us. I know He lives, and for that I am forever grateful!

Omaha Zoo

Ben had a day off and we decided to head to Omaha for the zoo and the temple.

We had a swingin' good time at the zoo :)

We love a good aquarium!

(but it's hard to take good pictures because it's so dark)

The favorite animals today were the giraffes and the gorillas:

Ben got some good video of a huge gorilla charging the looking glass where some Amish women were sitting. He also got some interesting footage of ostrich's mating...it's quite the show :)

We had a super fun day at the zoo! Afterward we got to hang out at the Winter Quarters Temple and visitor's center while Ben and I took turns doing sessions. It was a great mini-cation for us!!

St. Patrick's Day

Our friends, the Pettit's, invited us over this morning for a festive St. Patty's breakfast of "St. Patty's Pancakes", "Leprechaun Logs", "Clouds in a Bottle", "Magic Clover Dust", "Lucky Leprechaun teeth", "Rainbows on a Stick" and "Pot o' Gold Eggs". It was quite the feast!!

After our amazing breakfast we went downtown for the annual St. Patty's Parade. This holiday is huge in Des Moines and I think the whole city showed up for it, decked out in their green gear from head to toe. We were a little under dressed for the occasion :) We still had a blast though!

The kids ended up with their pockets stuffed with candy and a plethora of beads around their necks :)

I have never really understood the point of St. Patrick's Day, but it sure is a fun holiday around here! Thanks to the Pettits and the Pfeiffers for all the fun today!!

Water Water Everywhere!

It has been so warm lately that we finally broke down and hooked up Cole's fire hydrant to the hose for the kids:

The kids had fun running through the water, but it was mostly making a big puddle and barely spraying so we let the kids spray each other with the hose:

We had a fun, wet, cool afternoon!

Winter? What's That?

Spring came early this year! We have had such nice weather lately. We have been playing outside the last few weeks and today Daddy ditched the books and joined us for a family day at the park!

I'm loving this Iowa winter :)

Potty Training Gear

Ellie has been off and on with wanting to potty train. Today was an on day...as long as she got to wear her potty training gear:

What more does a girl need than a princess pull-up and princess heels?!
