Summer in a Day

School's...out...for...summer!!
We were so excited that Ben gets a break from school that we spent the whole day playing. First we had a picnic brunch right after his last test where we:

Stopped to smell the flowers...

(and even picked a few bouquets)
Went on a pretty little hike...
And played some frisbee. He's a natural!

Later, we had a b-day BBQ at the beach (We have a little zoolander on our hands)
Happy birthday Matt and Chrissy!
Last, but not least, we went to a baseball game!

We had such a fun day with Daddy! It was a great way to start our summer :)

From the mouth of Cole

Cole has made quite a few insightful comments today. I thought I would share:

When Cole told me that he had to pee I suggested that he go on the potty. His response was"I always want to go on the potty, but I just can't go on the potty." This coming from the boy who has an almost completed potty sticker chart.

"My name is Mr. Rectangle. Sister is a square. You are an oval!" I guess he has his shapes down. :)

At the library Cole sat at one of the tables and said "Shh, I have to study now."

When referring to his diaper he said proudly "Mommy my stinky is khuge!" Such a true statement. If only he could go on the potty!

"She's crawling!" Yep, I have two mobile kids now.

I told Cole thanks for doing something and as always he said "Thanks you too."

Cole came up from behind me and wrapped his arms around my neck in a big hug and said "I love you so much Mommy!" then gave me a big kiss on the cheek. :)

Cole was eating a poptart one day and dropped a piece. When he found the piece a little bit later he picked it up and said "Oh happiness!"

What a sweet, funny, smart, loveable little boy!

Nick & Brooke Get Hitched

We got to go to Utah for Nick and Brooke's wedding. It was a fun and crazy weekend.

All decked out in our wedding attire

The airplane was an adventure as always. We have a Coke lover just like Grandma Coombs. We start 'em young :)
(If you look closely at the above pic you can see the crazy stalker in the background.
She stared at us the entire flight!)

Airplanes and movies. Can life get better? "I submit to you that it cannot!"

Our trip ended on a high note when we sat behind Shawn Johnson on the airplane! She is only the most famous person in all of Iowa. She is just as cute in person...but maybe even shorter :) She told us our kids were cute. We even got a picture with her to prove it! :)

Yeah, that's shopped. We didn't want to bug her for a pic. But looking back we really wish we would have. And she really did tell us our kids were cute. That part wasn't photoshopped :)

Pella

Our friend Mindy talked us into going to Pella with her. It's a cute little dutch town about an hour away. The windmill was huge, the buildings and fountains were beautiful, and there were tulips everywhere! I was wishing I had a better camera and some photography skills :)

Do these shoes fit?
That's better!

It was a beautiful day...even when we were pooped on by the birds and almost blown away by the wind. :)

Cinco De Mayo

Happy Cinco de Mayo!!

It isn't a party without a pinata

She's being held by someone besides Mommy and not crying!
Thanks Blasi and Jan for giving me a break :) And thanks Mindy and Nicole for the fun party!!

May Day

Our Branch had a May Day party at President Pence's house. He has the most amazing yard, it's like a private park. There is a little lake with paddle boats, a tramp, a playground, a tree swing, dog kennels, little tractor bikes for the kids (Cole's personal favorite), tons of trees and LOTS of grassy space to run around. Cole was in heaven...especially when Pres. Pence came out driving a tractor. President took the kids on a few long rides around his property. He even let Cole take it for a spin:

It was an amazing place and we had a great time! Cole has been asking all day to go back to his party with the boats and the tractors and the wagons :) Hopefully we get to go again.

Here is a random pic of Elise...just because she's so stinking cute!
